First Impressions: Meizu Pro 5 - This device runs with Samsung latest exyons Octa core 7 processer

First Impressions: Meizu Pro 5
Meizu has launched its latest flagship, the Pro 5 in Beijing. The 5.7-inch smart phone is powered by the same Exynos 7 Octa processor found on the Samsung Galaxy S6 and will be available in two variants. The 32GB 3GB RAM variant is priced at 2799 RMB and the 64GB variant with 4GB DDR4 RAM is priced at 3099 RMB . This makes the Pro 5 one of the best smart phones in the specs to price ratio. While the phone won't be coming to India till next year, Meizu will try to create hype around the phone as well as the brand itself in the meantime.

Coming back to the gorgeous display. The display is bright and offers well balanced colours. The contrast ratio is also very good thanks to the Super AMOLED display, while the viewing angles are also quite good as well. The UI hasn't changed much and the phone runs on Flyme 4.5, which will be updated to Flyme 5.0 by November 15. The new UI will bring new animations and a new layout among other things. It's worth mentioning that the new UI will be available for the MX5 by next week. The 1080p resolution is also the same as its previous phones, but the display itself looks slightly better and now has an increased display size of 5.7-inch.

The new processor is the newest and most talked about entry in the spec sheet though. Meizu chose the Exynos 7420 from Samsung and on the demo devices, it seems extremely fast. We tried to run AnTuTu on the phone, and the benchmark produced a 75K+ score. We will know more about the performance once we get the device for review though and the same goes for the new HiFi 2.0 supporting audio output. The 21MP rear camera is the other selling point for the phone. The camera, which is using the Sony IMX 230 sensor, seems to be promising.

The Pro 5 also supports Quick Charge 2.0 technology. Meizu claims that the phone can be charged upto 65% from 0 in just 30 minutes. We would love to see it work in a real life scenario and will hold our judgement till we do.
